Human pathogen surveillance using a mobile and semi-autonomous environmental workflow
WP lead: Norwegian Research Centre (NORCE)
Leader: Adriana Krolicka
Objectives:
Develop a mobile surveillance laboratory (MSL) (vehicle-based) for semi-automated genetic tracking of human pathogens in environmental samples
Update relevant libraries of human pathogen detection tools using new genomic knowledge of endemic pathogen diversity
Provide extensive laboratory training of students in the molecular genetic methods used by the mobile surveillance laboratory through research exchanges
Summary of WP3: WP3 focuses on the development and optimization of low-cost, easy-to implement mobile solutions for qualitative and quantitative molecular analysis of environmental samples for epidemiological surveillance. This is to implement a holistic One Health approach and deliver efficient infectious disease surveillance, disease prevention and control, as well as public health emergency preparedness.
